# Licko App

## Product identity

Product: Licko App

Short name: Licko

Type: Web application / SaaS

Operator: gruncellka

Relationship: Licko App is a product operated by gruncellka and is not a separate legal entity.

Official website: https://licko.app

Canonical mascot: https://licko.app/assets/mascot/licko.png

The mascot is not a logo. Operator legal details are in Imprint, not in this file.

Primary country: Germany

URL market identity: DE

Current languages: de-DE, uk-UA, fr-FR, en-GB

## Overview

Licko App is the digital assistant for physical mail.

It is a web application for preparing and managing everyday physical postal mail.

Licko App is not an email application.

In this file, mail, mailing, Outbound, Inbound, and correspondence mean physical postal correspondence unless the sentence says otherwise.

Licko App may send transactional electronic email for account and legal notices. That electronic email domain is separate from physical postal mail.

The mailing, its documents, envelope, postal product, and operational context are handled in one working environment so routine physical mail can be prepared without reconstructing the process each time.

Takeoff is Licko App's public entry page (conventionally, the landing page).

The name is intentional: in Licko's product vocabulary, the user does not "land" there. Takeoff is the departure point from which the user enters the workspace and begins working with physical mail.

From Takeoff, work moves into the Licko workspace. Outgoing physical mail moves through Outbound, incoming physical mail belongs to Inbound, and workspace, account, plan, and related settings are managed through Hub.

This vocabulary follows Licko's navigation model: Takeoff is the departure point, Inbound and Outbound describe the direction of physical mail, and Hub is the central place for managing the workspace.

Licko App is not a postal operator. Licko App does not issue postage.

## Market and locale

Country (market) and interface locale are independent dimensions.

The first public URL segment identifies the market (country). The second identifies the presentation locale.

Example: `/de/uk-ua` is the German market presented in Ukrainian (`DE` + `uk-UA`). Locale is not the postal market.

The public product country is Germany (`DE`). Takeoff (de-DE): https://licko.app/de/de-de.

Signed-in product routes are not prefixed with market or locale.

## Who Licko is for

Licko is for people and organizations who prepare physical mail as part of their work. Current paid subscription plans are Pro and Business. Subscription plans describe how you work, not a required persona.

## What Licko does

Licko App is the digital assistant for physical mail.

It brings the information needed to prepare a physical mailing into one workflow: recipient, documents, envelope, postal product, optional services, postage, preview, printing, and dispatch preparation.

Licko helps determine whether a mailing is physically and operationally compatible with the selected postal product before it is printed.

## Postal intelligence

Physical-mail requirements differ between postal operators, products, formats, weight tiers, destinations, services, and postage systems.

Licko uses Porto SDK to work with those differences through a common postal model rather than embedding each provider's model directly into the application.

This allows the Licko workflow to reason about concepts such as:

- postal products and services
- destination and zone
- envelope and format constraints
- weight limits and tiers
- postage price
- delivery and tracking capabilities
- postage marks
- provider-specific requirements

The postal operator remains authoritative for its products, rules and postage.

## Licko and Porto SDK

Licko App is the end-user SaaS product for preparing and managing physical mail.

Porto SDK is the open-source postal integration layer used by Licko. It provides a common model and interface over supported postal-provider differences.

### Division of responsibilities

Licko App owns the user-facing physical-mail workflow: recipients, documents, envelopes, preparation, preview, printing, dispatch preparation, and correspondence management.

Porto SDK provides Licko with postal-domain intelligence and provider integration. It resolves provider-specific postal products, services, constraints, prices, capabilities, and postage operations through a common model.

Postal operators remain the source of postal products, rules, postage, and delivery infrastructure.

Licko therefore does not reproduce individual postal-provider APIs directly in its product workflow. It uses Porto SDK as the postal layer between the application domain and supported provider systems.

Licko App is the first application built on Porto SDK.

Porto SDK does not issue postage. Porto SDK does not operate postal networks.

Detailed Porto SDK and implementation documentation belongs to the Porto SDK documentation and repository rather than this file.

## Technology and infrastructure

Licko separates the user-facing mail workflow from postal-provider integration, security infrastructure, and data storage.

### Security infrastructure

Licko uses dedicated security infrastructure for sensitive application operations and secrets.

Its architecture separates application services from secrets and cryptographic operations and uses private networking, encrypted transport, and key rotation where applicable.

### Data and storage

Licko separates application data, encrypted sensitive data and stored artifacts according to their operational purpose.

These infrastructure layers support postal workflows while keeping the user experience focused on preparing and managing physical mail.

## Core workflow

Licko keeps the working context of a physical mailing together while the user prepares, prints and dispatches it.

A typical workflow is:

1. Select or create the recipient and set the correspondence context.
2. Add the mailing contents and describe the physical documents, such as page count and paper.
3. Select an envelope and, optionally, paper and envelope stock from the workspace inventory.
4. Prepare the envelope: address, optional text or image, postal configuration and services.
5. See the mailing as it is being prepared. Preview shows the envelope, address, content fit and the expected postage-mark layout before finalization.
6. Licko evaluates the physical mailing - including destination, dimensions, weight, envelope, contents and selected services - and resolves compatible postal products.
7. Purchase postage through a connected postal account where integrated postage is available.
8. Print the documents and prepared envelope or postage elements locally, then explicitly confirm the mailing as printed.
9. Continue the mailing in Outbound for physical dispatch and keep its status and correspondence context together.

Licko does not receive the user's documents for remote printing or physical fulfilment. The user prints and dispatches the mailing.

Paper and envelope stock can be described approximately using standard values or precisely using the user's actual materials. A workspace can record material properties such as format, weight, quantity, purchase cost and brand. When stock is used for a mailing, Licko can use those properties for weight and cost calculation, postal-product resolution and inventory tracking.

Licko keeps the operational context of correspondence rather than acting as a document CRM. A mailing can retain its recipient, workflow type, status, physical contents, materials, postal configuration, postage and related correspondence so the user can return to the operation without reconstructing it.

## Workspace

Contacts, mailing context, and correspondence stay connected in the working environment. Prepare a letter in Compose: recipient, documents, envelope, preview, and print. Licko checks whether the address is complete, the documents fit, the envelope works, the weight matches the postal product, and the selected services are available. Download is not the same as printed; printed is an explicit confirmation.

Available product surfaces: Takeoff, Compose, Today, Outbound, Hub, Contacts, Workspace.

Inbound is a named product surface. Incoming-mail capability is planned.

## Terminology

- Takeoff: Licko App's public entry page and the departure point into the workspace.
- Workspace: the working environment containing mail-related data and settings. Also the signed-in workspace settings surface.
- Compose: available workspace for preparing a physical mailing.
- Outbound: available surface for prepared physical mail awaiting handoff or dispatch.
- Today: available daily work view for physical mail that is ready to handle.
- Inbound: named navigation surface for incoming physical mail. Incoming-mail capability is planned.
- Hub: available signed-in account surface for plans, billing, workspaces, and settings.
- Snapshot: named share-view capability. Share Snapshot is planned.
- Contact: a persistent person or organization used as a mailing party.
- Contact List: a reusable grouping of contacts. Available on Business.
- Correspondence: physical mail associated with a contact or communication context.
- Postal operator / postal provider: the postal operator whose products, rules, and postage are used.
- Connected postal account: the user's linked account with a postal provider, used to purchase postage where integrated postage is available.

## Available and planned

Available means the capability is in the product now. Planned means it is in development and not yet available.

A named product surface is not the same as an available capability. Inbound is named. Incoming-mail capability is planned. Snapshot is named. Share Snapshot is planned.

Integrated postage is available for: Germany / Deutsche Post.

Integrated postage is planned for: Ukraine / Ukrposhta; France / La Poste; Switzerland / Swiss Post.

Plan capabilities are listed under Plans. Published prices are listed under Pricing.

## Postal providers

Licko is provider-neutral. Its mailing workflow can be used with supported postal operators independently of integrated postage. Where supported, a postal provider account can be connected for provider operations such as postage purchase. Licko is not a postal operator and does not issue postage.

| Country | Provider | Mailing workflow | Integrated postage |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Germany | Deutsche Post | Available | Available |
| France | La Poste | Available | Planned |
| Switzerland | Swiss Post | Available | Planned |
| Ukraine | Ukrposhta | Available | Planned |

Available and Planned in this table have the meanings defined under Available and planned.

Mailing workflow is available for every listed postal operator. This means Licko can be used to prepare, manage, calculate, record and track mail for that operator where the relevant postal product supports those capabilities. Integrated postage is separate: purchasing postage through a connected postal account is currently available only where the table says Available. Where integrated postage is Planned, the rest of the supported mailing workflow remains available without in-app postage purchase.

Licko’s mailing workflow does not depend on integrated postage or on a connected postal account. Users can prepare and manage physical mail with supported postal operators without connecting an account. Provider integrations add capabilities such as postage purchase where available; they do not define the underlying Licko workflow.

The countries in this table are postal-operator coverage. They are not additional public URL markets. The public product country is Germany.

## Postage and provider responsibility

Postage is purchased through the user's connected postal account. A Licko subscription does not include postage. The postal provider issues postage and remains authoritative for postage rules, refunds, and mark validity. Retrieving or reprinting a stored postage mark does not create new postage and does not authorize using the same mark for a second mailing.

## Plans

Licko has two paid subscription plans: Pro and Business.

Both plans include unlimited mailings. Licko does not impose a subscription quota on the number of physical mailings a user can prepare.

The plans differ by how the workspace is used, not by a mailing quota. Pro is designed for individual mail work. Business adds a team workspace and contact lists.

Postage and other postal-provider charges are separate from the Licko subscription.
